This course empowers frontline security workers with vital skills to identify and de-escalate agitated behaviour, ensuring a safer work environment. Completing it enhances professional capabilities and may unlock new opportunities within the security sector.
Learners who complete this course will be able to:
- Demonstrate theoretical knowledge of the causes and development of conflict.
- Recognise worrying or unsafe behaviour and respond by selecting from standard de-escalation techniques and strategies to keep themselves and others safe.
- Select from and apply strategies to self-manage their response to conflict and the stress it causes.
Blended learning – including face-to-face practical workshops, interactive online learning and workplace experiences.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, below are the criteria for enrolment:
- Employment in the security industry.
- Employer nomination.
- Basic English language and computer skills.
Admission may be granted on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Director of Stratcom Security.
